New Years Special - Sayonara, 2014

As you and I all know, it's now New Years Eve (31/12/14), first of all, I would like to mention a happy new year, and all that goes well. Enjoy 2015!

As for this post, I want to summarise as much I can about what changed since the start if 2014.

I'll summarise what has changed throughout the year.

January 2014:
Routes 228, 428, 601. 602, 603 and B15 retained with existing buses (with 228s and B15s being refurbished and 428 having one extra from 256's old Arriva allocation).

New school route 662 introduced between Surbiton Station and Holy Cross School via Tolworth and New Malden. Awarded to London United using existing Volvo B7TL 10.6m East Lancs Mylennium buses from 57(/131 now). Operated from Tolworth (TV).
Routes 96, 319 and 472 receiving new buses. 96/472 with Enviro400Hybrids for their contract and 319 received the last Volvo B5LH 10.4m Wright Gemini 2 vehicles London will see.

Route 308 rerouted to serve Stratford City via Temple Mills Lane instead of via Leyton Station and Leyton Road.

February:
Route 122 retained with new Enviro400Hybrid buses
Route 148 converted to New Routemaster operation.
Routes 200 and 486 retained with existing buses to be refurbished.

March:
Route 159 withdrawn between Paddington Basin and Marble Arch with no replacement. PVR set to 34.
Routes 283, 393, 396 retained with existing buses (393 gaining two extra buses for the contract)
Routes 262/473 retained with existing Enviro400 diesel and Scania OmniCity from Plumstead (PD)
Route 317 retained with new buses from 2015.
Route 372 retained with existing Enviro400 diesels transferred from 53 (delayed)

April:
Route 10 converted to New Routemaster operation

Route 75 awarded to Stagecoach Selkent with new Volvo B5LH Wright Gemini 3 Alexander Dennis Enviro400Hybrid buses from Catford (TL) plus one journey from route 208 [Bromley (TB)].
New School Route 689 introduced between The Glade and Croydon via Shirley and Addiscombe relieving the 367. Awarded to Arriva London from Thornton Heath (TH).




May:
Route 38 converted to full New Routemaster operation.
Route 54 awarded to Stagecoach Selkent from Catford (TL) using Volvo B5LH Wright Gemini 3 Alexander Dennis Enviro400Hybrid buses.
Route 136 extended to Elephant & Castle via North Peckham (via 343) from Peckham.

Routes 272 and 440 retained with existing buses. Allocation moved from Shepherd's Bush (S) to Park Royal (PK).
Routes 498, 608, 649, 650, 651, 652, 667, 674, 679 and 686's allocation change to Scania N230UD Optare Olympus vehicles redundant from routes 54 and 75. 
London United mess reallocation:
27 night service moved from Hounslow (AV)
110 reallocated from Fulwell (FW) to Hounslow (AV) 
131 given the boot to Tolworth (TV) from Fulwell (FW)
391 moved from Stamford Brook (V) to Fulwell (FW)
419 kicked out to Shepherd's Bush (S) from Stamford Brook (V)
Routes E1/3/10 awarded from Metroline West to other operators, Abellio London, London United and re-entering Tellings Golden Miller (under Arriva) in order of bus routes (E1>E3>E10).

Routes 53 and 122 allocated new Volvo B5LH Wright Gemini 3 switched allocations with 54/75.
Route H98 introuduced with 4 new Optare MetroCity EV.

June:
Route 7/N7 retained with new Volvo B5LH 10.5m Wright Gemini 3. Existing buses cascaded to 79 & 297.
Routes 406/418 retained with new and existing Enviro400 buses.
Route C3 retained with full daily allocation of Enviro400Hybrids (new buses stolen by 211 now)
Route S1 - New Optare MetroCity buses introduced. Mitcham terminus changed to Lavender Fields from Lower Green.

July:
Route 8/N8 converted to New Routemaster operation.
Routes 43 & 134 allocated Volvo B9TL 10.4m Wright Gemini 2 cascaded from routes 79 & 297 alongside contractually allocated VWs (Volvo B9TL Gemini 2).
Routes 71 and 281/681 retained with existing Scania OmniCity buses redundant from 148.
Routes 79 & 297 reallocated using cascacded Scania N230UD Optare Olympuses of 7/N7.

Route 286 awarded to Go Ahead London (London Central) from their New Cross (NX) base with new Enviro200 buses introduced.
Route 375 retained with existing Enviro200 refurbished.
Metrobus routes (64, 119, 126, 127, 130, 138, 146, 161, 162, 181, 202, 233, 284, 293, 320, 336, 352, 353, 358, 359, 367, 405, 434, 464, 654, B14, R1, R2, R3, R4, R6, R8, R9, R11, T32 and N64) transferred to Go Ahead London (London General)

August:
Route 112 awarded from Abellio London to Metroline Travel from Cricklewood (W) with existing Dennis Trident 2 ALX400s until new Enviro200s arrive.
Route 205 retained with new Enviro400Hybrids introduced.
Route 232 retained with existing Enviro200s. Frequency increased to every 15 minutes.
School Route 602 allocated with existing Scania OmniCitys from 205.
School Route 611 retained with existing Scania N230UD East Lancs Olympus
New School Route 663 introduced between Pampisford Road Kendra Hall Road and Thornton Heath Station via Thornton Road and Waddon, relieving many routes, 289 and 455 are one of them. Contract awarded to Arriva London South from Thornton Heath (TH) using existing buses within the garage.

September:
Route 49 awarded from London United to Abellio London, operating from [Queenstown] Battersea (QB) with new Enviro400Hybrid buses.
Route 100 awarded to Go Ahead London (London General) from Mandela Way (MW) with *delayed* new Enviro200s (buses entered service this December 2014)
Route 395 and H13 retained with their respective operators with existing buses (H13 with one new bus). Buses on 395 finish at 0015 instead of 2215.
Route H98 - Diesel Optare MetroCity introduced alongside Electric versions and allocated Enviro200s.
School Route 640 awarded to Metroline Travel from Harrow Weald (HW) with existing Volvo B9TL Wright Gemini 2 buses transferred from Brentford (AH). Journeys now crosslinked with 140.
School Route 672 retained with new Enviro400Hybrids from 472.

October:
Route 112 - New Enviro200s arrived and started service.
Route 201 awarded to Abellio London from Beddington Cross (BC) with existing Enviro200s from 407 allocation until new Enviro200s (equipped with flywheel) arrive.

Route 332 retained with new Enviro400MMC Hybrids to be introduced from early 2015.
Route 453 converted to New Routemaster operation
School Routes 606, 661 and 669 retained with existing buses.

November:
Route 23 - ex-Stagecoach London Trident/ALX400s allocated alongside Enviro400 (diesel/hybrid).
Route 34 awarded to Metroline Travel from Potters Bar (PB) using Enviro400s and Volvo B5LH Wright Gemini 3 buses.
Routes 102 and 414 retained with existing buses to be refurbished.
Route 136 - New Enviro400 diesels introduced along existing Enviro400s to displace older Tridents on service during extension to Elephant & Castle.

Route 192 awarded to Go Ahead London (London General) from Northumberland Park (NP) with new Wright Streetlite buses. In the meantime existing Enviro200s from 192's Arriva allocation is in use.
Route 364 retained with existing buses.
Route 407 retained with new Enviro200s (equipped with flywheels) and 1 Enviro400MMC Hybrid.
Route S4 awarded to Abellio London from Beddington Cross (BC) with new Enviro200 buses.

School Route 627 retained with existing buses.

December:
Route 100 - New Enviro200 buses arrived after 4 months delay.
Route 137 converted to New Routemaster operation.

Route 312 - Two new Optare MetroCity EV buses introduced alongside existing Enviro200 buses.
Volvo B5TL 10.5m Wright Gemini 3 demonstrators Arriva London VGD1 (BF63HDE) and Metroline Travel VW1469 (BF63HDG) reallocated from W3 > 221 (VDG1 BF63HDE) and 297 > 7 (VW1469 BF63HDG).

All these changes were interesting, as long as changes are going on, service changing shouldn't bore you as long as route's you're interested in are mentioned. It was nice this year, and nice knowing it. Happy New Year 2015!
